wgtn lux
WGTN LUX was a festival of art and technology that ran between 2011 and 2015 in Wellington, New Zealand, duplicating the original LUX festival that was started in Oslo, Norway.
I was the volunteer coordinator for the festival, coordinating students from nearby Massey University as well as local residents interested in media art.
Among other things, I also designed multimedia and materials to support volunteers.
Now, LUX festivals are organised in various places around the world including Geneva, a city I would move to many years later. I remember being shocked when I first saw the sign for Geneva’s LUX festival, as if I had been thrown back in time. The same happened years later, in London
It was a beautiful and impactful experience - I have vivid memories of one of my brothers working to repair one of the exhibits. He had just come to visit after graduating from high school.
